ReUse Market Reopening Protocols

Although many of you have asked when we will be open, our space and limited ventilation mean there will be limitations on how many people can enter The Market at any given time.
Please note, we ARE NOT ACCEPTING MATERIAL DONATIONS at this time. We will update Facebook and our website as we work through new procedures for handling incoming materials.
In the meantime, we are resuming our regular, noon to 5 p.m hours, on Thursday through Saturday each week, and have implemented the following protocols to facilitate the safety of you, our valued customers, as well as our cherished all-volunteer staff.
Please review the Reopening Protocols prior to visiting ReUse Market and we hope to see you soon!

ReUse Market Reopening Protocols

Based on the “Idaho guidelines for reopening after COVID”

  • A maximum of ten (10) people, including staff, will be allowed in ReUse Market at any time. Please respect the instructions of our volunteers if you are asked to wait downstairs — we apologize in advance for this inconvenience.

  • Please do not visit The Market if you have a fever or are exhibiting any symptoms of illness, or if you have knowingly been exposed to Covid-19 in the past 10 days.

  • All people over the age of 5 must wear a non-ventilated facemask, covering their nose and mouth at all times in The Market, including volunteer staff and customers. Disposable masks are available if you do not have one. Anyone refusing to wear an approved face covering will kindly be asked to leave, without exception.

  • Please also practice 6’ social distancing while shopping in The Market and wait at marked locations for checkout.

  • We can only check out one customer at a time so please be patient with our volunteers and expect a wait.

  • The checkout counter and bins for weighing items, as well as shopping baskets, will be cleaned after each customer. The stair railing will also be cleaned throughout the day when we are open.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available for customers to use upon arrival, as well as throughout The Market to use as needed.

  • Until we are able to relax restrictions on the number of people shopping at a given time, we ask that you shop alone to allow adequate distance between shoppers in our already crowded Market. Please note, children count toward the total number of shoppers and must remain with their adult while shopping.

  • We will soon begin taking credit cards in order to minimize touch transactions but checks and cash are still welcome in the meantime.

  • Material donations are not being accepted at this time. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please remember it is a violation of Idaho Statute 18-7031 to dump materials without permission.

  • When we resume collecting donated materials we will have a specific day of the week we are open for donations only (no shopping) and appointments may be required. Please check our website for the most up-to-date information about materials donation.
